Monday night I put I more experienced athletes through Operator Ugly, a fitness assessment for soldiers designed by Rob Shaul of www.militaryathlete.com.

This test has 6 events which cover all aspects of fitness.  Strength, speed, durability, and mental toughness.  By having six events it gives coaches a more rounded view of the athlete as opposed to a "Grace" or "Helen" which are not indicative of overall fitness.  You can have a bad ass Grace time and suck balls at Helen. 

The Events are:
Max reps bench press @ 185
Max reps front squat @ 185
Max reps dead lift in 60 seconds @ 225
Max 25m sprints in 60 sec, 4 rds with 60 sec rest
Max Strict pullups
Max Sandbag getups in 10 min @ 80

Passing score for general athletes is 100pts.  Coaches have a higher standard.  Click here for more details on the test.
