Comments:
Overhead squats are not easy. They require great mobility, coordination, and core strength. I made my less mobile athletes use plates under their heels and saw great improvement in the depth. That's why people where those funny weight lifting shoes, they have big heels and they are not squishy soled.
Downside to training in weightlifting shoes is once you do it you'll never want to go back. I lift in a pair of Nike Free 5.0. These are my training shoes for everything. I'm not that geeky with lifting gear, I think it fucks with the head too much.
