Matthew Mahon racing.  Matthew recently did a 3 week strength cycle and took some time off the bike.  His first interval session back on the bike indicated an 8% increase in power.  

Work sucks
Warmup:  3rds
BBC inc wgt
400m run

Training:
1) 1 rm on foundational lift

2) 8rds for time
4x SBGU @ 80
4x Burpee
4x Scotty Bob @50
12x step ups

3) 1.5 mile run - moderate pace...........that means comfortable but not easy.

Comments:
I am starting to question when to have new athletes 1rm.  There are so many things an athlete should know prior to attempting some of the loads he/she may be capable of.  How to properly ditch for example, or knowing when to say when.  I will report back on this soon.

Which lift have you not 1rm on?  Do it today.  Choose from the following:
Bench Press
Push Press
Wgt Pullup
Front Squat
*Overhead Squat
Deadlift
*Snatch
*Clean

*Make sure you know WTF you are doing before 1rm these lifts.
